  • Introduction

    Huaqing Shi serves as an Assistant Professor of Asian History at Loyola University New Orleans. He earned his Ph.D. in East Asian History from Florida State University in 2024. His research examines the political and cultural roles of children in wartime memory, propaganda, and video games. His current book project, Games of Memory: Chinese Children’s Anti-Japanese Narratives from Propaganda to Play (1921–2024), explores a century of youth-centered media. Dr. Shi has presented at national and international conferences such as Association for Asian Studies, Society for Military History, and Conference of East Asian Environmental History. At Loyola, he teaches Modern China, Modern Japan, Premodern Chinese History, East Asia through Video Games, and East Asian Food History.
